June 2008:
- Getting deep into research to extract every little bit of fuel economy out of the LLY, LBZ and LMM Durmax engines. Doing some out-of-the-box thinking here. Working on improved shift patterns and torque-convertor lockup for city/town driving. Also working to VVT turbo settings, and really tweaking injection timing. This will be a fuel economy tune only, and will result in slower boost response and only small power gains from efficiency. Existing fuel economy-tune customers stay tuned for an update here.
March 2008:
- Ford Tuning is now available! Stay tuned for a list of supported vehicles and engines.
- Working on a comprehensive list of vehicles/engines that are supported, along with a price guide.
- Throttle Lag on the 2007 Trucks with 6-speed automatic is now fixable. This requires a transmission control module update.
December 2007:
- Working on changing the remote start runtime parameter on late-model GM vehicles. Currently it is set to 10 minutes, and you can only start your vehicle twice. That means the vehicle will only run for a total of 20 minutes. This is a work in progress, not sure yet how successful this will be. GM hid this one well! UPDATE: still a work in progress unfortunately. This is a very integrated system involving 3 computer modules on the vehicle. But there is hope that this can be made to work...
November 2007:
- More intelligent Elevated Idle on the 2004-2005 LLY Duramax. The factory elevated idle option is nice, but it just doesn't work to keep the Duramax burning clean at idle when the temperature really falls. We've done some research on the optimum settings for this and have a setup that really works! If you already have a tune done by us, come by for a free update for your elevated idle.
- One of the major complaints at the dealerships in the wintertime is lousy fuel economy. Here are a couple of factors: 1) Extended idle time. 2) Cold tires. 3) Cold powertrain components. 4) Lighter, winter blended fuel for diesels. Always expect to see mileage drop during colder temperatures!
October 2007:
- Use your winter fronts wisely! You can overheat a Duramax with a winter front, especially if it's loaded. Keep in mind that the intercooler needs airflow!
